Rose Blade Nouveau Pink Menu Challenge
We’ve asked 4 of the best Culinary Schools in Gauteng to take the #PinkMenuChallege and compete against each other to create the Healthiest & Most Decadent Pink Menu for Crowne Plaza Johannesburg – The Rosebank to feature on World Cancer Day 2020.
We’re asking Chefs all over the world to create a HEALTHIER & DECADENT 3-COURSE PINK MENU, and then make a 1-minute challenge video to introduce themselves and their PINK MENU, tell us what’s healthier about it, and to nominate other great chefs to do the challenge.
We need GREAT CHEFS to help us prove that HEALTHIER DINING can be EXCITING, DECADENT & DELICIOUS, and inspire healthier food choices to FIGHT and prevent CANCER and other non-communicable diseases, while supporting #GreatCharitiesDoingGreaterThings.
Up to 50% of Cancers can be prevented with Wellness Management, (World Health Organization), which includes, not smoking, regular exercise, less alcohol and a HEALTHIER DIET. But we know that if you’re not excited by change, you probably won’t make it, so we decided to make HEALTHY EATING EXCITING!
We also ask Chefs to serve their Pink Menu BY-APPOINTMENT-ONLY, at a #PinkMenuChefsTable, from menu launch until the 29th of February 2020, and then to feature it on World Cancer Day, February 4th, 2020, as part of the GLOBAL CHALLENGE HIGHLIGHT with all #PinkMenuChefs.
Each PINK MENU supports our Cancer Beneficiary Select in the Chefs country with a fundraising arm available direct from the Pink Menu. South Africa’s Beneficiary is PinkDrive, our Breast Cancer Community Carer.
We then decided to take this challenge a step further and get 4 of THE BEST CULINARY SCHOOLS to test their skills in a friendly competition, to see who can make the most exciting healthier menu.
Your TICKET not only supports the PinkDrive with a donation of R150, but it also includes each schools 3-COURSE PINK MENU TASTING PLATE, which means that you will be treated to a 12-COURSE TASTING MENU, of 4 Starters, 4 Mains & 4 Desserts.

But we need YOU TO JUDGE and help us decide who wins. You won’t know which school created which menu until we announced the winners, you will decide purely on presentation and taste. Your judging counts 50% of the score, Guest Executive Chefs count 25%, and we have a panel of Dietitians who bring the balance of 25% to the score. IT IS THE MOST EXCITING CULINARY GAME CHANGER EVER!
Theme: ‘Dipped in Pink & Left to Sparkle’ (So wear a little or a lot of Pink, it makes our photos look awesome)
